Are online courses as effective as in-person classes?
I've taught university courses both in person and online for the past four years, and I've noticed that my online students often perform worse on exams. But is that because the format is inferior, or because the students who choose online courses are juggling jobs and families? The flexibility of online learning is undeniable, yet I worry that without the structured environment of a classroom, many students drift. What do you think: should we judge online courses by the same standards as traditional ones?
