I've seen too many LGBTQ+ youth struggle in silence because their own families refuse to accept them, and I think mandatory LGBTQ+ inclusive education in schools could save lives. A friend of mine came out at 16 and was kicked out of his house, and he told me the only reason he survived was because a teacher made him feel seen. Critics say parents should decide what their kids learn, but when that approach leads to homelessness and suicide, shouldn't schools step in?
