Are soft skills overvalued in hiring?
I've seen job listings emphasize soft skills like communication and teamwork for years, but I'm starting to wonder if we've swung too far in the other direction. In my last role, we hired someone who was charming in interviews but couldn't write a line of code, and it set the whole project back months. Is it possible that we overvalue soft skills in hiring while undervaluing raw technical ability and problem-solving?
