Can emotional reasoning ever truly be overridden by statistical evidence?
I've read dozens of studies on cognitive biases, and I keep coming back to the same unsettling pattern: even when people are shown clear statistical evidence, they still trust their gut feelings over hard data. A friend of mine recently refused a statistically safer medical procedure because it 'felt wrong,' and no amount of numbers could change his mind. Is it even possible to train ourselves to overcome confirmation bias in everyday decisions, or will emotional reasoning always win?
