Can emotional intelligence be trained long-term?
I've noticed that emotional intelligence often beats technical skill in team settings, especially during conflicts. Last month, a colleague with average coding ability resolved a tense client call simply by listening and acknowledging frustration, while our top developer made things worse by diving into solutions. Can soft skills really be trained, or are they mostly personality traits you either have or don't? I've seen workshops that seem to help, but I'm skeptical about long-term change.
