Do bike lanes really reduce car traffic congestion?
I've noticed that bike lanes in my city are expanding every year, but car traffic still dominates most of the daily commute. Is investing in more cycling infrastructure actually a realistic solution for reducing congestion, or just a feel-good project for environmentalists? I see both city planners pushing for it and drivers complaining about narrowed roads, so I keep wondering where the real balance lies.
