I've lived in Amsterdam for a year, and the cycling infrastructure there is so safe that even my 70-year-old mother rides daily. Meanwhile, my hometown in Texas has exactly one bike lane that ends abruptly at a highway ramp. If we spent the same on protected bike lanes as we do on highway interchanges, wouldn't we save lives and reduce traffic congestion without the climate doom arguments?
