Can structured programs effectively teach soft skills?
I've hired over fifty people in the last five years, and I can tell you that technical skills get your resume noticed, but soft skills get you hired. Yet our education system and most corporate training programs still treat communication, empathy, and adaptability as afterthoughts. Sure, you can teach someone to code in six months, but can you teach them to listen actively or handle conflict without drama? From my experience, those are far harder to develop, and they're exactly what determines whether a team thrives or falls apart. So my question is: can soft skills actually be taught effectively in a structured setting, or are they mostly innate traits that we can only refine through life experience?
