Do productivity systems fail because of motivation, not method?
I've cycled through most productivity systems—Pomodoro, time-blocking, the two-minute rule—and each one helped for about a week before the novelty wore off. What I'm now questioning is whether the real bottleneck isn't method but motivation, since I've noticed that on days when I'm excited about a project, I don't need any structure at all. Could the entire self-help productivity industry actually be a way to avoid confronting why we don't want to do the work in the first place?
