I've coached youth soccer for six seasons now, and every year I see the same pattern: the kids whose parents can afford private training and travel teams pull further ahead while the rest fall behind. My own son improved dramatically after we spent $300 a month on extra sessions, but I know that's not an option for most families. Should youth sports programs be restructured to level the playing field, or is the pay-to-play model just a reflection of how the real world works? I'm genuinely torn because competition should reward effort, but not everyone gets the same starting line.
