I've been wrestling with whether personal faith can coexist with a purely scientific worldview, and my conclusion is that the two aren't inherently opposed—they answer different questions. Science explains the how of the universe, while religion addresses the why, and I believe you can embrace both without intellectual dishonesty. But I've met brilliant physicists who are devout believers and others who think that's a contradiction, so maybe it's more about individual temperament than logic. Is it actually possible to hold both without cognitive dissonance, or must one eventually dominate?
