I've been trying to cut down on single-use plastics for a year now, but my local grocery store still wraps almost everything in plastic, from cucumbers to bananas. Even when I bring my own bags and containers, the checkout process seems designed to make zero-waste shopping nearly impossible. How much of the plastic waste problem is actually on individuals versus the companies that produce all this packaging? I feel like I'm making sacrifices that barely move the needle when a few big brands could change their packaging overnight. But maybe I'm just making excuses for my own lack of effort — what do you think, is individual action worth it or are we just shifting blame?
