Is 5.5 hours of sleep enough if you feel fine?
I've been tracking my sleep with a wearable for three months, and the data shows I average only 5.5 hours on weekdays. My doctor warns that chronic short sleep raises risks for heart disease and diabetes, but I feel fine and productive. Is waking up at 4:30 AM to squeeze in a workout actually harmful if my body seems adapted, or am I just ignoring warning signs that will catch up later? I'm genuinely torn because every sleep expert says 7-9 hours is non-negotiable, yet my energy levels don't reflect the supposed deficit.
