I've been thinking about how we label people as 'toxic' these days, and I'm starting to wonder if this psychological buzzword is actually doing more harm than good in our personal growth. We throw the term around for anyone who disagrees with us or challenges our comfort zone, but isn't that just a way to avoid self-reflection? Real toxicity in relationships is a pattern of abuse, not someone having a bad day or holding a different opinion. I've cut off friendships based on this label, only to realize later that I was the one who couldn't handle being told uncomfortable truths. So, is the overuse of 'toxic' making us emotionally fragile and unable to cope with normal friction in relationships, or is it genuinely protecting our mental health?
