Should rent increases be capped to stabilize neighborhoods?
I've been searching for an apartment for three months, and rent prices keep climbing even as landlords complain about vacancies. My salary went up 4% this year, but rents in my area jumped 11%, and I'm starting to wonder if housing is becoming an investment vehicle instead of a place to live. Should we cap rent increases to keep neighborhoods stable, or will that just push landlords to sell and shrink supply further?
