Does nostalgia change how we judge old movies?
I've been rewatching old movies and TV shows from my childhood, and I notice that what I find funny or moving now is often completely different from how I felt back then. Does nostalgia actually change our perception of quality, or are we just more forgiving of flaws because we associate them with happy memories? I'm wondering if a film I loved at fifteen would still hold up if I watched it for the first time today, without that emotional baggage.
