Does rereading classics later in life truly reward us more?
I've been rereading George Eliot's Middlemarch, and it hits differently now that I'm older. But I keep asking myself: do we, as readers, actually gain more from a difficult classic when we return to it later in life, or is the struggle of first reading just as valuable? Maybe both, but I lean towards the idea that patience rewards us more. What's your take on revisiting books that once felt like a chore?
