Is balancing aesthetics and functionality in room design always a compromise?
I've been redesigning my own workspace for the past month, and I keep hitting the same wall: every layout choice seems to trade one problem for another. For example, moving my desk near the window boosted my mood but introduced glare on my monitor, and adding plants made the room feel alive but took up space I needed for storage. Is there actually a way to balance aesthetics and functionality in a room, or is every design decision just a compromise you have to accept? I'd love to hear how others have resolved this tension in their own spaces.
