I've been reading about vertical farming for a while, but when it comes to staple crops like wheat or rice, the numbers just don't add up. Growing lettuce indoors is great, but staple crops need acres and sunlight, not LED lights and trays. Should vertical farming even aim to replace traditional agriculture for staples?
