Is letting go harder than holding on?
I've been reading about how cognitive biases shape our daily decisions, and one pattern keeps standing out: we tend to overvalue what we already own, even when better options exist. For example, I held onto a gym membership for two years that I barely used because canceling felt like losing something. Does this mean our attachment to the status quo is more about avoiding perceived loss than actually choosing what's best for us? In my experience, recognizing these biases in myself has helped, but breaking the pattern is harder than it sounds. I'm leaning toward yes, but I'd like to hear if others have found ways to overcome this bias in real life.
