Does gentle parenting set kids up for failure in the real world?
I've been reading about different parenting styles, and I'm starting to wonder if gentle parenting might actually be setting kids up for failure in the real world. The idea of always validating feelings and avoiding consequences sounds nice in theory, but doesn't it create children who can't handle criticism or setbacks? I've seen friends who use this approach struggle to get their kids to respect boundaries, and I worry we're raising a generation that expects the world to treat them with kid gloves. But maybe I'm wrong—perhaps empathy-first parenting builds more resilient adults in the long run.
