Are modern games designed to hook us rather than entertain?
I've been playing video games since the Atari days, and I can't help but wonder if gaming has actually gotten worse for our attention spans. Modern games are full of microtransactions and daily rewards that feel designed to keep us hooked rather than to tell a meaningful story. I recently spent 40 hours on a popular open-world title and realized I couldn't remember a single character's name. Do you think that gaming today encourages unhealthy habits more than it provides genuine entertainment? For me, the focus on monetization has turned a once-creative medium into a slot machine.
