Are soft skills truly more valuable than technical expertise?
I've been on hiring panels for five years, and the pattern is consistent: candidates with strong technical skills but weak soft skills crash in team settings. One engineer coded brilliantly but couldn't take feedback, and we had to let him go after three months. Soft skills like communication and empathy often determine whether a project succeeds more than raw IQ. So, is investing in soft skills training really more valuable than sharpening technical expertise, or are we overhyping something that can't be taught anyway?
