Should immediate family come before extended family?
I've been married for eight years, and my biggest argument with my spouse isn't about money or chores—it's about how much time we spend with our extended families. She thinks weekly Sunday dinners with her parents are non-negotiable, but I feel like we're sacrificing our own family time, especially when the kids need weekends for activities. We've tried compromise—biweekly visits, shorter stays—but it still leads to tension. Is it really necessary to maintain such close ties with extended family once you have your own kids, or should immediate family take full priority?
