I've been job hunting for three months, and every posting asks for the same five soft skills—teamwork, communication, problem-solving—yet I can't recall a single interview where they actually tested those. Is the hiring process just paying lip service to soft skills, or are they genuinely what sets successful employees apart? My last manager was technically brilliant but couldn't run a meeting without it turning into a monologue, and the whole team suffered for it. Maybe I'm biased from that experience, but I'd like to hear if others think soft skills really matter more than hard skills in the long run, or if that's just a cliché recruiters love to repeat.
