Is talk therapy too focused on the mind and not enough on external factors?
I've been in therapy for two years now, and while it's helped, I'm starting to question whether traditional talk therapy is enough. We spend hours discussing childhood memories and thought patterns, but my anxiety still spikes when I'm stuck in traffic or facing a deadline. I've tried CBT, mindfulness, even medication—each piece helps a bit, but the puzzle never feels complete. Do you think most mental health treatments are too focused on the individual mind and not enough on the external factors like work stress, financial pressure, or social isolation that keep us sick?
