Should companies promote based on interpersonal skills as much as technical output?
I've been in project meetings where the person with the loudest voice always wins, even when their idea is weaker. Soft skills like active listening and empathy aren't just nice-to-haves; they directly affect team productivity and turnover. Yet our performance reviews rarely measure these qualities objectively.
