I've been going to galleries and studios for years, and I'm still torn on whether art schools actually nurture creativity or just churn out graduates who all paint the same way. Sure, technical skills are useful, but I've met self-taught artists with raw vision that formal training seems to sand off. Has anyone else noticed that the most exciting work often comes from outsiders rather than MFA holders? Does structured education really unlock something unique, or does it just standardize our instincts?
