I've been following the Rohingya crisis for years, and international law clearly labels the atrocities as crimes against humanity, yet the UN Security Council has done almost nothing concrete—no sanctions on Myanmar's generals, no referral to the ICC. Why do human rights protections remain so toothless when powerful states veto action, and at what point does the international community's failure to intervene become complicity? I'm not sure if we need a new enforcement mechanism or just political will, but the current system seems designed to talk endlessly while victims wait.
