I've been flying regularly for work over the past decade, and the boarding process at most airports still feels chaotic. We line up by group numbers, but people crowd the gate anyway, and the overhead bin space runs out before half the passengers board. Should airlines adopt a stricter, more enforced boarding order, like assigned seating by window, middle, aisle, or even a true back-to-front system, to actually speed things up? I've read studies claiming some methods save several minutes, but I'm not convinced airlines will change because their priority is selling early boarding privileges.
