Can Traditional Retirement Plans Deliver Real Security?
I've been contributing to my 401(k) for over a decade, yet the idea of retirement still feels like a distant fantasy. Experts suggest saving at least 15% of your income, but that's nearly impossible when rent eats up half my paycheck. With social security expected to run dry by 2035, should we even rely on these retirement plans? I'm starting to wonder if the whole system is built on false promises, making me lean toward a firm NO on trusting them fully. But maybe I'm just being pessimistic; after all, compound interest has worked wonders for some people I know. What's your take—can traditional retirement plans actually deliver the security we're promised, or are we fooling ourselves?
