I've been a project manager for 8 years, and I still think most "essential" software like Slack, Jira, and Asana actually eats more time than it saves. The constant notifications and status updates force everyone into a meeting-by-chat loop that never ends. Sure, these tools give visibility, but they rarely help us make better decisions—they just create more busywork. Can we honestly say that a team using five collaboration tools produces better software than one using just email and a shared document?
