Should preschools prioritize academics over free play?
I've been a preschool teacher for eight years, and I'm starting to question whether we're pushing academics too early. My three-year-olds are expected to recognize letters and numbers, but all I see is frustration and tears. Should young children really be spending their days on flashcards instead of free play and exploration? I'm genuinely torn between what parents demand and what I know about child development.
