I’ve been a meal-prep enthusiast for three years, and I’ve noticed that ultra-processed vegan meats like plant-based burgers are often marketed as healthier than they really are. A Beyond Burger has about the same saturated fat as a beef patty, yet people assume it’s automatically better for them. I think we need to stop treating ‘plant-based’ as a synonym for ‘nutritious’ and look at the actual ingredients before we label it a healthy choice.
