Does streaming really destroy the album experience?
I used to think streaming killed the album, but last month I forced myself to listen to one full record every night and realized I'd been missing the narrative arc that playlists destroy. My attention span fought back at first, yet by week three, I was hearing transitions and motifs I never noticed in shuffle mode. Is the single-track economy actually making us worse listeners, or am I just romanticizing a format because I grew up with CDs?
