I think letting kids play unsupervised in the neighborhood is more important than most parents admit today. My own childhood was full of roaming until dusk, and it built problem-solving skills I still use. But now I see parents hovering at every park, and I wonder if we're trading resilience for perceived safety. Isn't a scraped knee worth the confidence they gain?
