I think free will is an illusion, but I still live like it's real. For years I believed in moral responsibility, until I read about Libet's experiments and the neuroscience showing decisions form before consciousness. People say that makes life meaningless, but I've found the opposite: once I stopped judging people for their choices, I became less resentful and more compassionate. Yet I can't fully shake the feeling that I'm choosing, even if I know it's a trick. Can we truly live without believing in agency, or does that just replace one illusion with another? The question isn't whether free will exists, but whether the belief matters more than the fact.
