Should physics education prioritize intuition over formulas?
I teach high school physics, and every year I notice students memorize formulas for exams but can't explain why a ball thrown up slows down. We spend weeks on equations, yet when I ask what force acts on a satellite in orbit, half the class says gravity has stopped. Is our approach to teaching physics too abstract, missing the intuition that makes the subject click?
