Should companies use personality tests if they lack predictive power?
I recently read a study claiming that personality tests have no predictive power over job performance, yet millions of people take them every year. My company used the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator during onboarding, and I felt it sparked useful conversations about communication styles. It seems like a paradox: if the tests aren't scientifically valid, why do they still feel so meaningful in practice? Should we treat them as harmless self-reflection tools or drop them entirely from hiring and team-building?
