Does religion offer psychological benefits secular humanism lacks?
I grew up in a devout Catholic household but stopped attending Mass in my early twenties. Over the past decade, I've noticed something surprising: my most grounded, ethical friends are often deeply religious, while my atheist acquaintances seem to struggle more with purpose and anxiety. Is it possible that religion provides a psychological framework that secular humanism hasn't fully replicated yet? I'm genuinely curious whether we lose more than we gain when we strip away the ritual and community that faith traditions have built over centuries.
