I grew up in a devout Catholic household, and for years I believed that faith and science were locked in an endless war. But after studying evolutionary biology at university, I now think the two can coexist without contradiction. The Catholic Church itself accepts theistic evolution, so why do so many believers still treat Darwin as the enemy? Is it fair to dismiss religion as anti-science when many of its followers integrate scientific findings into their worldview?
