I fly roughly 30 times a year for work, and I'm starting to wonder if airlines will ever get serious about cutting their carbon footprint. Sustainable aviation fuels are still under 1% of total use, and electric planes only work for short hops like the Orkney islands. Given that aviation contributes around 2.5% of global CO2 emissions, do you think the industry can realistically decarbonize by 2050, or are we just greenwashing while demand keeps growing?
