Is cord-cutting making TV better or just more fragmented?
I cut cable a decade ago and still watch way more TV than I'd like to admit, but now it's all streaming. What actually worries me is whether these streaming services are making TV better or just more fragmented than ever. You end up needing five subscriptions to watch what used to be on one channel, and that's before you start paying extra for sports. Is this endless choice a real improvement, or did the old model of appointment viewing force us to watch things we'd never pick ourselves—and sometimes that was a good thing?
