Human rights are universal, but I've noticed that many governments treat them as negotiable based on cultural context. When I read about countries citing 'Asian values' to justify restrictions on speech or assembly, I wonder if we're really defending rights or just power. If rights are truly universal, shouldn't they apply equally in every country, regardless of tradition or economic development?
