Does strict goal-setting make habits harder to keep?
Has anyone else noticed that setting strict daily goals for habits like reading or exercise makes them feel like a chore, and then you end up skipping them entirely? I've tried both strict tracking and a looser 'at least three times a week' approach, and the latter seems to stick better for me. But I'm curious if that's just a personality thing or if there's actual psychology behind why many of us rebel against rigid schedules. Could flexibility actually be the key to consistency, or do we just need to push through the initial resistance?
