Hardware upgrades are often pushed as essential for productivity, but my 2015 ThinkPad still handles everything I throw at it. I've run Linux on it for years, and apart from a battery swap, it's been rock solid. The constant release cycles for new CPUs and GPUs seem more about planned obsolescence than real user needs. Are we being sold performance we don't actually utilize?
