Grit—passion and perseverance for long-term goals—is often praised as the key to success, but what about people who persist in failed paths or toxic environments? I've seen colleagues grind through burnout because they were told to be gritty, and then they crashed. Psychology research shows that while grit predicts achievement, it also correlates with staying in unhappy situations. Is resilience always good, or can we be too stubborn?
