Good design is often judged by how intuitive it feels, but I think that standard is holding us back. When every app copies the same minimal layout, we lose the chance for richer interactions that could actually serve users better. I redesigned my portfolio with playful colors and unconventional navigation, and while some praised it, others said it looked unprofessional. Should designers prioritize familiar usability over visual boldness, or are we too comfortable with boring conventions?
