Should free speech be absolute even when it fuels hate?
Free speech should be absolute, even when it allows hateful rhetoric that targets minority groups. I've heard all the arguments about limiting speech to protect vulnerable people, and I understand the pain such words cause, but once we let the state decide which opinions are acceptable, every dissenter becomes a target. The path to tyranny always starts with 'dangerous' speech being banned. Would you trade a little less hate speech for a lot less liberty?
