Flying from London to New York emits about a tonne of CO2 per passenger, which is more than many people produce in a year of driving and heating combined. I've switched most of my long-distance travel to trains within Europe, but for intercontinental trips, I haven't found a realistic alternative that fits my work schedule. Given that aviation accounts for roughly 2.5% of global emissions, do you think the burden should fall on individuals to fly less, or should airlines and governments invest more in sustainable fuels and carbon capture?
